Overview

  • Dr. Trotter received her doctoral degree from Arizona State University, College of Nursing, Phoenix, Arizona in 2013 and her undergraduate degree from Mayo Clinic/ Arizona State University College of Nursing in 2009. She also has dual certification as a nurse practitioner in both adult and geriatric health. Her doctoral work focuses on improved quality of life and comprehensive patient education programs to prepare people with cancer for surgery and treatment. She was the graduate student recipient of the Abel Family Scholarship for Academic Excellence and has been awarded the Outstanding Graduate Award 2009 by Mayo Clinic/Arizona State University.Dr. Trotter sees patients in the Benson Cancer Center and works closely with the entire oncologic treatment team and collaboratively with surgical oncologists throughout the consultation process and post surgical follow up period. She is a member of several professional organizations. She has been working in the field of surgical oncology for the majority of her professional nursing career.Clinical Interests: Dr Trotter's clinical interests are adult and geriatric health, complex cancers of the upper gastrointestinal tract- esophageal, liver, biliary, pancreatic and gastric cancers. Other interests include comprehensive cancer care, development of patient education programs, post surgical outcomes, distress management, quality of life for cancer patients after treatment, clinical research, survivorship programs and nurse navigation.
