Overview

  • Dr. Gia Tyson received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston in 2006. She went on to complete her internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She completed her fellowship in gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and an advanced fellowship in liver transplantation at Tulane University and Ochsner. She started the Liver Center Baton Rouge, which provides comprehensive, specialized liver care to the Baton Rouge region and throughout the state. Dr. Tyson is board certified in gastroenterology/hepatology and has been on staff at Ochsner since 2013. She has a special clinical interest in liver disease evaluation and management. Dr. Tyson has been involved in the Louisiana Department of Health's initiative to eliminate hepatitis C in our state. She enjoys running, biking, swimming and hanging out with friends in her free time.
