Overview

  • Dr. Roybal earned her medical degree and a master's degree in public health from Tulane University. She then moved to New York City, where she completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital. While at Mount Sinai, she developed a particular interest in minimally-invasive surgery and inflammatory bowel disease. During her residency, Dr. Roybal pursued a two-year fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where she did research involving prenatal gene therapy. She then completed a clinical fellowship in Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery at the Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington. Dr. Roybal is board certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Roybal is an active member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics Surgical Section, and the American College of Surgeons. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented at several national meetings.
