Overview

  • Dr. Megan Hattier Binder is a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctoral degree from Louisiana State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, in positions including the Neurobehavioral Outpatient Clinic and the Pediatric Feeding Disorders Program. She then completed her post-doctoral clinical fellowship at The Emerge Center in Baton Rouge, LA. Dr. Binder specializes in assessment, consultative, and treatment services for children with developmental disabilities, behavioral difficulties, learning/academic problems, intellectual disabilities, social skills problems, and feeding difficulties. She offers assessment services, including comprehensive autism evaluations, psychological evaluations, and psycho-educational evaluations. Treatment services include behavior therapy, social skills training, feeding therapy, parent/caregiver training, and school consultation. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Binder has published two book chapters in books addressing intellectual disability and behavioral problems. She is an author or co-author of 22 journal articles published in six different journals on topics ranging from autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, adaptive behavior, pica, and challenging behaviors. She has served as a guest reviewer on 10 different journals. Dr. Binder is also a member of the American Psychological Association.Dr. Binder values being part of a multidisciplinary team and enjoys providing parents and other caregivers with the tools necessary to help their child succeed.
