Overview
- Dr. Fuhrman serves as the vice chair and program director in Ochsner's surgery department. Previously, he served as the director of the Tansey Breast Center and the section head of general surgery. Dr. Fuhrman's current practice focuses on acute care surgery with an interest in the management of surgical complications such as bile duct injuries, enterocutaneous fistula and necrotizing pancreatitis. He is actively engaged in the performance of complex surgical oncology and endocrine surgery. Dr. Fuhrman's national stature in surgery is reflected by his membership in the prestigious American Surgical Association; he is one of five actively practicing members in the state of Louisiana.
