Overview

  • Dr. Kathryn Kerisit is a New Orleans native who graduated as valedictorian of St. Mary's Dominican High School. She went on to Tulane University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in cell and molecular biology. She was awarded her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, and at the same time completed a Masters of Public Health in epidemiology. She completed her residency in dermatology at Tulane where she served as chief resident, and she remains a clinical assistant professor within the Tulane department of dermatology. Dr. Kerisit is a board-certified dermatologist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and an elected member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, melanomas, moles, and other tumors of the skin. She treats contact dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin disorders, as well as recognizes the skin manifestations of systemic and infectious diseases. She is also skillful in dermatologic surgical techniques, including skin biopsies, cyst and mole removals, and skin cancer surgeries. Additionally, she manages cosmetic disorders of the skin, including the skin changes associated with aging. She offers a personalized approach to the use of botulinum toxin therapy and soft tissue fillers to diminish the signs of aging by softening wrinkles and restoring youthful contours to the face. Dr. Kerisit is a caring and compassionate physician who truly listens to her patients' concerns and treats each patient as though they are family. She takes the time to educate her patients on their conditions so that they can be involved in the decision-making process of their treatment plans.
