Overview

  • Dr. Joseph Keen is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with expertise in the treatment of a broad range of neurosurgical disorders of the brain and spine. He believes in patient and family-centered care. Dr. Keen received his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine. There he developed an appreciation for spinal biomechanics and the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to treat spinal disorders and pain. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Loma Linda Medical Center in California. Dr. Keen's interests also include neuro-oncology, for which he completed an enfolded skull base fellowship at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, WA and a Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA with Drs. Jeffrey Olson and Nelson Oyesiku. He has authored and contributed to several scientific publications and book chapters on various brain and spine topics.
