Overview

  • Dr. Aimee Mackey was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, and is an alumnus of St. Joseph's Academy. She graduated from Louisiana State University and earned her Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport. She then completed general surgery residency at Ochsner Clinic and a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Columbia University in New York, NY. In 2012, she joined the faculty at Duke University as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. Her specialty is breast surgical oncology and the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Clinical interests include the surgical treatment of breast disease, nipple-sparing mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsies, young women with breast cancer, and quality of life after breast cancer treatment. She also treats and manages benign breast disease. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.
