Overview

  • Dr. Mahmood received his undergraduate and medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. While there he completed a General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery internship. He went on to complete his Residency in Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, TX. He completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX and Sleep Medicine at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, OK. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and joins Ochsner this summer 2020 and has been practicing medicine since 2018. Dr. Mahmood's expertise in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine have afforded him elections to various panels within the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as his current role of Assistant Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at University of Texas Health Northeast, in Tyler TX. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family exploring new places, dining at unique restaurants, and watching NBA games with his son.
