Dr. Martin is a native of New Orleans who received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Louisiana State University, then went on to graduate Alpha Omega Alpha from LSU Medical School in New Orleans. After completing three years of her general surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, she realized Dermatology was her true passion.She completed a Cutaneous Oncology fellowship with the Department of Dermatology at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, and then returned to Texas to complete her Dermatology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She is active in a variety of professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
