Dr. McGovern earned his doctorate of podiatric medicine from Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences in May of 2001. He completed his Residency in Podiatric Medicine/Surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York from July 2001 to June 2002 and then completed a surgical residency at Department of Veterans Affairs/Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, California from June 2002 to July 2004.
Since August 2004, Dr. McGovern spend over seven years with the Department of Veterans Affairs most recently as Chief of Podiatry at their Anchorage, Alaska location. He also founded and ran a private practice in Virginia.
Dr. McGovern is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
