Overview

  • Dr. Jonathan D. Nussdorf succeeded Dr. Richard Hesse as Chairman in 2008. Dr. Nussdorf received his bachelor's degree from the University of California in San Diego and a Master's degree in psychology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville in 1991 and completed his internship, ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at Ochsner in 1996. He then returned to Louisville and while in private practice, continued his research and professional volunteer activities before returning to New Orleans to join the Ochsner staff in 1999. His practice and professional interests include glaucoma management and consultation, cataract and intraocular lens implantation, and participation in the training of glaucoma fellows and ophthalmology residents. Dr. Nussdorf is board certified in ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Nussdorf practices at the Ochsner Medical Center on Jefferson Highway in New Orleans and Chabert Medical Center in Houma.
