Overview

  • Dr. Vernon Carriere, Jr., was born in New Orleans. He graduated from Jesuit High school then attended Louisiana State University where he graduated summa cum laude. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School of New Orleans. Dr. Carriere went on to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and fellowship in gastroenterology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Carriere is currently an active member in the American College of Gastroenterology, Jefferson Parish Medical Society, American Gastroenterology Association and American Society for Gastroenterology Endoscopy. He regularly attends national meetings and seminars on the latest advances in the field of gastroenterology. Dr. Carriere is active staff at East Jefferson General Hospital and River Parishes Hospital. He lives in Metairie, Louisiana with his wife and three sons.
