She remained at Ochsner until 2017 when she earned a Master's of Science in Nursing. Holly began her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner in internal medicine and geriatrics, but when an opportunity to return to Ochsner oncology presented itself in 2018, she graciously accepted. Holly is now a Bone Marrow Transplant nurse practitioner at Ochsner Main Campus. As a student, Holly served as a graduate/research assistant and was inducted into Golden Key, Phi Kappa Phi, and Psi Chi Honor Societies. Academic awards include receiving a graduate assistantship; being named Outstanding Undergraduate Student of the Year in Psychology; receiving a Certificate of Academic Achievement as a Senior in Psychology; and being named the University Scholar for the College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University.Having worked in multiple areas of nursing, it is in the world of Oncology where Holly feels most at home and where she feels her work has the greatest impact. Caring for Oncology patients and their families is her passion. Holly's approach to patient care is comprehensive and collaborative. It is one of treating whole patients and their families as opposed to just treating diseases. It also includes presenting patients with all relevant information and involving patients and families in care decisions. Holly recognizes that a cancer diagnosis is life changing and that patients and families will have many questions and concerns. Her goal is to provide answers and guidance, as needed, in a comprehensive, compassionate, and timely manner.
