Overview

  • Dr. Kann received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 1997. He went on to complete his internship and residency in general surgery at Cooper University Hospital/University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, NJ, followed by a fellowship in colon and rectal Surgery at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. Dr. Kann is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 2015 and practicing medicine since 2004. He currently serves in a number of leadership roles at Ochsner, including program director of the Colon & Rectal Surgery Residency Program, medical Director of endoscopy, surgical director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program, and chair of the Operating Room Block/Scheduling Committee. Dr. Kann's practice covers the entire spectrum of colon and rectal disease, but he has a special interest in caring for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) and colon and rectal cancer. He is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons, Association of Program Directors for Colon & Rectal Surgery and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Dr. Kann enjoys spending time with his family, golf, and music in his free time.
