Dr. Burns earned his medical degree from Tulane and completed his internship, residency and pulmonology fellowship at Ochsner. He also completed a pulmonology research fellowship at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Burns is a fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary & critical care medicine and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1984.'
