Overview

  • Dr. Teresa Garrison received her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Following this, she completed a residency in internal medicine as part of the primary care tract at Emory University in Atlanta in 2015. She completed a geriatric fellowship at the University of South Carolina/Palmetto Health in 2016. Dr. Garrison is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine. She joined the Ochsner staff in 2019 after practicing medicine in New Orleans for the past three years. Dr. Garrison's expertise is preventative care, multiple chronic disease and complex need management especially for older adults specifically in the areas of advanced care planning, dementia, and poly-pharmacy. Dr. Garrison enjoys developing intimate, personal relationships with her patients and helping them to prevent and/or control chronic disease. This enables her patients to have a better quality of life.
