Overview

  • Dr. Hamang Patel graduated magna cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina before earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. Following graduation, he stayed at the University of Maryland to complete his internship and residency. He completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of South Florida and heart failure and cardiac transplant fellowship at Lifelink Transplant Institute. Dr. Patel specializes in cardiology and his areas of special interest include heart failure and cardiac transplantation. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 2005 and practices at the Ochsner Medical Center on Jefferson Highway in New Orleans. Dr. Patel is board-certified in cardiology, advanced CHF/ transplant cardiology, and is cardiac transplant-certified by UNOS, or the United Network for Organ Sharing. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
