Overview

  • Dr. Ryan Himes is a pediatric hepatologist specializing in the treatment of children and young adults with liver disease including biliary atresia, autoimmune hepatitis, Wilson disease, metabolic liver disease, viral hepatitis, portal hypertension, cholestasis, fatty liver disease, Alagille syndrome, and liver failure and transplantation. He received his doctorate from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Dr. Himes completed his residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and his fellowship at Texas Childrenís Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. After practicing pediatric hepatology for 10 years at Texas Children's, he was recruited to New Orleans in 2019 to lead the division of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition and serve as medical director of the pediatric liver transplant program.
