Overview

  • Dr. Sardar received his medical degree from Calcutta National Medical College in Kolkata, India. He completed his internal medicine residency at the New York Medical College, New York, NY, and a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, UT. He then proceeded to complete interventional cardiology and vascular medicine and intervention fellowships at the Brown University, Providence, RI, and Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MADr. Partha Sardar is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He has been on staff at Ochsner since July 2020. Dr. Sardar specializes in cardiology, interventional cardiology and vascular interventions. Dr. Sardar's clinical interests include complex coronary artery intervention, peripheral arterial disease including claudication and critical limb ischemia, renovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease and venous thromboembolism. Dr. Sardar's research interests focus on clinical outcomes and comparative effectiveness research related to endovascular devices for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. He has authored over 60 original manuscripts and over 30 reviews and editorials, and 2 chapters of widely used textbooks in Interventional Cardiology. His original research has been published in Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), European Heart Journal (EHJ), Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Circulation Interventions, JACC interventions among others. He lectures frequently at national meetings including the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) amongst others.
