Overview

  • Lawrence L. Haber, MD is originally from Texas, completing his bachelors at TCU and medical school at Texas Tech University. He did his orthopedic training at the Medical College of Virginia and in 1998 and completed a Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Haber comes to Ochsner Hospital for Children from University of Mississippi Medical Center. He practiced as an Assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio for over 5 years, where he was also Director of Pediatric Orthopedics at Tod Childrens Hospital in Youngstown Ohio. In 2004 he took a position at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he rose to professor and served as chief of pediatric orthopedic surgery for over 10 years.He is internationally known as a pediatric spine surgeon, but also is active in the care of pediatric trauma and fractures, foot and ankle problems, limb lengthening and deformities and treats children with neuromuscular problems like Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida. Most of his research interests are clinical and involve scoliosis surgery. He has done many national and international presentations and publications. Dr. Haber is currently Continuing Medical Education (CME) Chairman for the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS). In addition, he has held multiple positions with SRS, Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA) and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). Dr. Haber is very active in his community, passionate about his family and enjoys playing guitar, golf and fishing.
