Overview

  • Dr. Abdul Khan received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile. He completed an internal medicine residency at Ochsner Medical Center where he served as chief medical resident for one year. Dr. Khan trained as a fellow in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine at Louisiana State University Health and Science Center in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Khan is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians and is board certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine. He is the recipient of the 2018 Ochsner Health Spirit of Leadership Physician of the Year, as well as the recipient of the 2017-2018 Hurst B Hatch Teacher of the Year. Dr. Khan is currently the Associate Medical Director of Rescue and Resuscitation at Ochsner Medical Center - Jefferson Highway. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank intensive care unit. Dr. Khan was recently appointed as Medical Director of the Xavier University/ Ochsner Health Physician Assistant Program.
